‘Green’ Pumps Sequester Acid Gas Eliminate Emissions Of Sulfur Compounds And CO2

A line of sealless diaphragm process pumps for efficiently sequestering acid gas and/or CO2 that reduce the required stages of compression, save energy, and help protect the environment is available from American LEWA, Inc. of Holliston, Massachusetts.

LEWA Diaphragm Pumps feature a hermetically tight, sealless diaphragm that isolates the process fluids from the hydraulic system and can pump up to 500 GPM @ 3,500 psig for sequestering 100% of CO2. Capable of processing acid gas as a liquid after the third stage, these green chemistry pumps require lower energy than multi-stage compressors, which typically involve seven stages, and eliminate the emission of sulfur compounds and CO2.

Designed with minimal dead space in the process chamber and a multi-layered PTFE diaphragm, LEWA Diaphragm Pumps provide volumetric efficiencies up to 80% in order to handle dense-phase acid gas and liquid CO2, and incorporate alarm functions for process fluid containment to ensure safety. Optional hydraulic systems monitoring helps identify maintenance requirements.

LEWA Diaphragm Pumps for sequestering acid gas and/or CO2 are priced from $50,000. up. Literature and quotations are available upon request.
