April 17, 2002 - Integrated Dewpoint Controller (IDC) measures and controls oxygen concentrations down to ppm levels for use in calculating dewpoint and oxidation reduction (ReDox) potential. Applications include environments where temperatures or other environmental factors are too hostile for in-situ probes, such as annealing, sintering, brazing, and endogenerators. Installation is completed in two steps and does not require penetration of generator or refractory wall.

Marathon "IDC" Provides Precise Oxygen Measurement & Control For Dewpoint Applications

Cincinnati, OH. Marathon Sensors, Inc. has introduced new technology for cost-effective, extractive oxygen measurement and control.

The Integrated Dewpoint Controller (or IDC(TM)) was engineered to measure and control oxygen concentrations down to ppm levels. It is highly reliable, and not prone to the temperature drift problems commonly associated with conventional (lambda-based) probes.

The Marathon IDC remotely measures oxygen content for use in calculating dewpoint and oxidation reduction (ReDox) potential. It is ideal for environments where temperatures or other environmental factors are too hostile for in-situ probes, and is well-suited to applications including annealing, sintering, brazing and endogenerators. In the latter application, it is a valuable tool in keeping the generator catalyst between high and low setpoints, avoiding damage.

IDC has an advanced, rebuildable design, and is cost-effective in terms of both purchase cost and maintenance. Because the sensor element is modular, the probe has a long service life. Replacement of the core sensing element is generally less than 1/3 the cost of a new unit.

IDC provides a response time 10X faster than reheat wells. The output is a T/mV signal, providing a direct connection to the controller. Installation is completed in two simple steps, and does not require penetration of the generator or refractory wall. There is no need for a separate reference air panel, and no burn-off is required.
