Black Box Introduces Value Line Secure Device Servers

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, - Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX), an industry-leading provider of voice communications, data infrastructure, and product solutions today announced a new line of Value Line Secure Device Servers (LES1101A, LES1102A) that enable access to serial console ports over any IP network-even the Internet-using a standard Web browser.

Value Line Secure Device Servers are embedded with an open-source Linux® based operating system for a high level of customization. They also support auto failover through alternate dial-in. Data is protected when traveling over a public network with Secure Shell (SSH) encryption, SSH tunneled serial bridging, SSH tunneling for TCP/DUP, IP packet filtering, and more. The 10-/100-Mbps Ethernet port is autosensing and auto negotiating for speed and duplex.

Additional features include off-line data logging, on-line data buffering and logging, as well as port sniffing for multiple users per port. For easy rollback, the servers store multiple local boot images locally, so it's easy to restore configurations. They support up to 50 concurrent sessions (SDT tunnels).

Black Box offers Value Line Secure Device Servers in 1-port (LES1101A) and 2-port (LES1102A) versions.
