C&K Develops Micro-Miniature Pendulum Detect Switch with Top and Side Actuation
RoHS-compliant and compatible surface mount switch features 3.3mm height off PC board...
NEWTON, MA (July 9, 2008) - C&K Components, a leading international supplier of tact
switches, toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has developed a series of micro-miniature surface mount detect switches. Designated the SDT Series, the pendulum style construction allows the switch to be actuated from the top or the side. The switch features a low profile and sits only 3.3mm off the PC board.
"The miniature package size and increased versatility due to the actuation flexibility make the detect switch ideal for consumer electronics, medical devices and ATCA hot-swapping applications," said David Webber, product director for C&K Components.
The low profile SDT Series detect switch features a maximum actuation force of 30g. The
recommended stroke to actuate the switch is 30 degrees or more off the center line. Contact rating is 1mA 5VDC, with a maximum contact resistance of 1mW.
Minimum mechanical and electrical life for the pendulum style switch is 100,000 cycles.
Operating temperature ranges from -20°C to +70°C (storage temperature is -30°C to +80°C).
The SDT Series detect switches are RoHS compliant and compatible, pick and place compatible, and are available in tape and reel packaging.
