Operators will Benefit from Cost and Power Enhanced OCTEON Fusion eNodeB Design

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Cavium, Inc., (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for enterprise, data center, wired and wireless networking, today introduced a new OCTEON Fusion LTE small cell design kit optimized for low power, low Bill of Materials (BOM) cost and superior RF performance.  Cavium is unique in offering feature-rich small cell solutions with both manufacturable hardware designs as well as fully integrated PHY and L2/L3 stack software, tuned to deliver excellent out-of-the-box performance. For manufacturers, this pre-integrated, pre-verified complete solution will dramatically reduce development costs and accelerate their time to market.  Operators in turn benefit from reduced opex and capex costs.

The new OCTEON Fusion manufacturable design kit produces an enterprise small cell that is 70% smaller than previous generation small cell designs. This small cell eNodeB will support up to 64 simultaneous, connected LTE users running within a PoE+ power budget, making it ideal for unobtrusive deployment. Cavium will demonstrate the new design in booth 2K60, Hall 2 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress exhibition.  The design kit is available now to OEM and ODM customers.
