A line of desiccant bags that can absorb up to three times their own weight in moisture at 90%RH @77° to protect cargo from moisture damage is available from Sphinx Adsorbents, Inc. of Springfield, Massachusetts.
Sphinx Container DriŪ II Bags protect cargo from moisture damage by absorbing up to 280% of their own weight in moisture at 90% RH @ 77° and keeping the dew point temperature below the actual temperature, even with day-night fluctuations. They can prevent rust, corrosion, peeling labels, caking of powders and other moisture related damage to all types of products.
Featuring tear-resistant TyvekŪ construction with CaCl2 as the active desiccant ingredient, which is safe, non-toxic and can be disposed of with regular waste, Sphinx Container DriŪ II Bags trap moisture by allowing water vapor to enter the interior of the bag where it is transformed into a thick gel that cannot escape. Pressure sensitive tape permits easy installation.
