The Revolutionary New DATUM Depaneling System

LONGMONT, CO - Cencorp, a subsidiary of PMJ Automec Oyj, announces the revolutionary new DATUM depaneling system, incorporating both circular saw and router technology into a single automation platform. It is the first machine to simultaneously address board spacing problems while meeting the demands of standard panel layouts.

DATUM addresses the increasing demands of densely populated, multi-layered boards with traces near the edge of the score line. The system eliminates bending loads and edge stresses associated with standard manual/semi-automatic systems, while exceeding traditional depaneling throughput rates.

Additional benefits to electronics assemblers:

• Dramatic price/performance enhancement over single-technology systems

• Low cost tooling

• Fast and easy product changeover

• Modular design, small footprint

• Large routing window: 18"x18" (457mm x 457mm)

• Video-aided programming for fast and accurate programming

• Broken bit and/or blade detection

Fast and accurate, DATUM offers rout speeds of up to 3" (5 mm) per second or saw speeds up to 8" (200 mm) per second. Servo repeatability is +/- 0.0005" (0.127mm). A unique servo-driven z-axis saw blade accommodates varying component heights, and can rotate 270 degrees to perform angular cuts.
