Overview
The Datacenter Solution offering is for clients who want to install scalable xSeries® industry-standard technology to replace aging proprietary platforms or existing Windows(TM)-based server solutions to greater than eight-way SMP capability.
This new set of Datacenter offerings is based on the newly enhanced xSeries 460 server.

Windows Datacenter offerings
Datacenter solutions are ideal for enterprise and high-availability applications. Single-node four-socket (eight-core) to 32-socket (64-core) server configurations as well as multinode four-socket (eight-core) to 32-socket (64-core) Microsoft(TM) Certified cluster solutions are supported.
The Datacenter High Availability Program Offering delivers a fully configured, Datacenter-certified, preinstalled hardware and software operating system solution on four-socket (eight-core) to 32-socket (64-core) server configurations. They support up to eight-node Microsoft Cluster Certified solutions for a tightly controlled, end-to-end supported environment for maximum availability.
The Datacenter Scalable Offering delivers a Windows Datacenter stand-alone server solution that scales from four-socket (eight-core) to 32-socket (64-core) without the need for a Datacenter-certified end-to-end solution. The Datacenter Scalable Offering is the ideal solution for clients requiring maximum performance and scalability in a non-cluster environment.
xSeries Datacenter offerings are now available with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter x64 Edition, in addition to Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition (32-bit).
Windows Server 2003 Datacenter x64 Editions provide high performance for both 32-bit and 64-bit applications on the same system.
