Neverfail for Orion Database(TM) Complements SolarWindsOrion Failover Engine

Neverfail for Orion Database, modeled on Neverfail's award winning Neverfail for SQL product, ensures that network administrators have constant and continuous access to performance monitoring functionality and data, even when planned maintenance or unexpected outages disrupt the primary database server used by SolarWindsOrion Network Performance Monitor (NPM).
The SolarWindsOrion family of products provides unique insight into the availability and performance of IT networks. The Orion server depends on availability of the Orion Database and should that database become unavailable, network engineers would be operating in the dark. In September SolarWinds announced availability of the Orion Failover Engine (FoE), which was developed in conjunction with Neverfail. The Orion Failover Engine leverages Neverfail technology to provide high availability and disaster recovery options for the Orion server. The combination of the SolarWindsOrion FoE and Neverfail for Orion Database provides maximum protection against outages of the Orion network monitoring infrastructure.

In the event of failure of the primary Orion database, Neverfail for Orion Database automatically fails over database operations to a secondary local or remote database server. The secondary server seamlessly assumes the full identity of the Orion database in order to ensure that monitoring continues and data remains available for analysis.
Neverfail for Orion Database provides a management experience consistent with that provided by the SolarWinds Orion FoE. Neverfail for Orion Database and the SolarWinds Orion FoE together provide a complete secondary copy of the network monitoring platform to ensure continuous operation.
