ProStor Systems Announces Major Software and Capacity Update to ProStor InfiniVault Data Preservation Storage System

NEW YORK, Sept. 23 /-- ProStor Systems, the leading developer of removable disk (http://www.prostorsystems.com/) storage systems, announced today a major software update and nearly 70% capacity increase of its landmark ProStor InfiniVault(TM) storage solution. Additionally, ProStor President and CEO Steve Georgis will be giving a presentation themed 'Cutting Your Storage and Power Costs in Half' at the Storage Decisions conference in New York. The presentation will be focused on how organizations can dramatically cut their storage and power costs utilizing their existing infrastructures.

ProStor InfiniVault is an intelligent data preservation system that retains digital assets at the lowest cost and power profile as long as is required. The system is now available with higher capacity 500 GB removable disk cartridges, expanding its online capacity to 50 terabytes from 32 terabytes of uncompressed data. Significantly more data can be stored using ProStor InfiniVault's native de-duplication and compression technologies. An infinite amount of offline data can be retained using its removable disk cartridges. The latest version of operating software adds features that aid in regulatory compliance, system reporting and file management. Additional highlights include more integrated support for NFS, backup across a local area network, and an ability to recycle WORM removable disk cartridges once all files have expired.

A winning combination, ProStor InfiniVault with RDX(R) removable disk, can save users both time and money by reducing data stored on primary storage by over 50 percent, shortening backup windows by 50 percent or more, and cutting power consumption of preserved data by up to 75 percent.

Explains Georgis, "The ever-increasing market acceptance of our ProStor InfiniVault technology is largely due to its ability to deliver a strong return on investment while drastically reducing total cost of ownership for our customers. Our solution combines the best qualities of a tiered storage system, delivering online performance while eliminating the need for additional secondary storage and offline tape archival storage."
