December 14, 2004 - Series HFHM2-DP is offered with socket and terminal strip interfaces on 0.5 mm pitch, and Series HFEM-SE, HFEM-DP and HFEM2-DP have 0.8 mm pitch for high speed board-to-board connections. Typical performance for the 0.5 mm pitch system is 6 Gb/sec/pair with 20 signal pairs per bank for 5 in. length. For 0.8 mm pitch system, typical performance is 4 Gb/sec/signal line for 5 in. length and 2.5 Gb/sec/signal line for 10 in. length.

Samtec High Speed Flex Data Links for Signal Integrity from 60mm to 200mm Board Spacing

Samtec Flex Data Links are available with socket and terminal strip interfaces on 0,5mm (.0197”) pitch (HFHM2-DP Series) and 0,8mm (.0315”) pitch (HFEM-SE, HFEM-DP and HFEM2-DP Series) for high speed board-to-board connections.

Typical performance for the 0,5mm (.0197”) pitch system is more than 6 Gb/second/pair with 20 signal pairs per bank for a 5” (127mm) length. For the 0,8mm (.0315”) pitch system, typical performance is up to 4 Gb/second per signal line for a 5” (127mm) length and up to 2.5 Gb/second per signal line for a 10” (254mm) length.

A wide variety of options are available as standard including single-ended and differential signal routing, two layer and three layer designs, mounting and locking options for rugged applications, and socket and terminal terminations. Pricing is approximately .75 per position for a complete assembly.

A new standard with Samtec is a 0,8mm (.0315”) pitch Q Strip™ socket or terminal strip on one end and a standard 43 pin 0,5mm (.0197”) pitch ZIF flex termination on the other (ZHFH Series) providing 14 signal pairs with ground pins surrounding each pair.
