October 11, 2002 - Model CPCIHSDâ„¢ utilizes CompactPCI bus based architecture to implement and emulate Encore Computer HSD II (High Speed Interface) Input/Output functions. It can also be used as gateway between real-time databases and ethernet links. DMA engine supports full data chaining, data buffering, and data reformatting. Device can perform data transfers from host to external device and host to host. Transfer rates between CPCIHSD and external device can operate in excess of 10 Megabytes/sec.

Data Link Between a CompactPCI Bus Host and The Encore Computer HSD Interface

Applied Data Sciences announces it is now shipping the CPCIHSDâ„¢. This product utilizes the CompactPCI bus based architecture to implement and emulate the Encore Computer HSD II (High Speed Data Interface) Input/Output functions.

Saving time and money is the real benefit to the user. This is accomplished by using an industry standard CompactPCI based Host with a CPCIHSD installed to upgrade Encore based systems, which use the HSD II for Input/Output communication. Additionally, it can be used as a gateway between real-time databases and ethernet links. The CPCIHSD also works as a device tester by testing existing HSD II compatible devices with a CompactPCI based Host and also interfaces workstations to an Encore host.

The CPCIHSD is a product with a high performance DMA engine supporting full data chaining, data buffering, and data reformatting capability. The device can also perform data transfers from 1) Host to external device, or 2) Host to Host. Transfer rates between the CPCIHSD and an external device can operate in excess of 10 Megabytes per second.

Software is also included with the product. There is MS-DOS I/O routines and a MS-DOS comprehensive interactive test program, and Linux software driver.

The CPCIHSD is based on Applied Data Sciences’ other established products, such as the PCHSD, PCEHSD, VMEHSD, MBHSD, PCEBBC, PCIHSD2, and others.

The cost of the CPCIHSD (including MS-DOS software, 20 foot cables, and documentation) is $6,750 and delivery is 30 days ARO.
