WIN Announces 1U Data Center Platform with Intel® Atom(TM) Processor C2000



NORTH ANDOVER, MA:  WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and network platforms for OEMs, announces the PL-80500, a 1U rackmount hardware platform for high performance network services and security applications. The appliance is powered by the next generation Intel® Atom™ processor C2000 (formerly codenamed “Rangeley”) featuring up to eight cores, Intel® Streaming SIMD Extensions (Intel® SSE), and optional Intel® QuickAssist Technology. The Intel Atom processor C2000 family was specifically designed to deliver efficient performance with additional cryptographic hardware acceleration for networking and communication workloads.

The unit supports four DDR3 1333/1600MHz unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DIMM sockets up to 32GB of memory and provides 2.5”/3.5" SATA 3.0 6 Gbps hard drives, plus CompactFlash™ to for maximum storage utilization. For enhanced network security the PL-80500 can be equipped with Intel Atom processors C2000 featuring Intel Quick Assist technology for additional hardware-level cryptographic acceleration. Resource intensive security operations are off loaded from the CPU to keep the overall networking throughput high.



This platform offers 8 GbE to 16 GbE Ethernet ports via PCI-E accessible on the front-panel. To prevent network problems during unexpected shut down, PL-80500 supports two segments of LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions. For local system management, maintenance and diagnostics the front panel is equipped with dual USB 2.0 ports, one RJ-45 console port and LED indicators that monitor power and storage device activities.  PL-80500 supports one PCI-E x8 slot for add-on Ethernet module and one PCI-E x4 golden finger connector for standard PCIe card via a riser card.
