The new MC170-L module case and new add-on components transform Validyne's proven MC17so0 analog signal conditioning modules into a fully portable, accurate digital data acquisition package. The MC170-L, with 8 or 16-slot capacity, is ideal for vehicle testing, flight-testing, engine test stands or any portable data acquisition application.
The new MC170-L system includes a 16-bit, 200 KHz A/D converter, P/N PCM862, and an adapter cable, which connects the MC170-L directly into any laptop computer running Windows 95/98 or NT. User-friendly Softwire(TM) software brings the system together in real-time, making the MC170-L a truly affordable, and portable data acquisition solution.
The PCM862, a type 11 PCMCIA plug and play card, provides an A/D interface for the MC170-L to any laptop PC with an available PCMCIA card slot, and features 16 single-ended input channels, programmable gain, up to 200 KHz sample rate and 16-bit resolution.
The Softwire(TM) data acquisition package provides a graphical programming environment within Visual Basic. With an extensive library of analysis functions and real-time graphical displays, a technician can easily create an intuitive user interface that includes digital panel meters, real-time charts and graphs, and annunciation displays. An expanding library of ready-to-run Softwire(TM) applications is currently available on CD.
Portability is made possible with the cost-effective MC170-L module case, which operates on +12 Vdc vehicle power. This feature allows test engineers to take it to the streets, literally. In addition, the new, compact MC170-L case accepts any combination of MC170 signal conditioning plug-in modules for conditioning strain gages, LVDTs, variable reluctance pressure sensors, frequency signals and DC voltages. Sensor inputs are via 9-pin D connectors to withstand shock and vibration.
With the MC170-L, a PCM862 and Softwire(TM), a user can quickly create a low cost, portable data acquisition system that is both easy to use and precisely tailored to any specific application.
The MC170-L can also be purchased separately as an outstanding signal conditioning solution. Signal conditioning modules output standard, single-ended +/-10 Vdc signals that are ready to be fed into any data acquisition system via the MC170-L 25-pin D analog output connector.
