Low Power Processors to Reduce System Cost

Product Highlights

New TMS320C6743 DSP from TI brings floating-point precision and fixed-point performance to energy-efficient, connected applications

TI's latest fixed/floating-point DSP, TMS320C6743, combines the ease-of-use and precision of floating-point programming with the connectivity and lower-cost options of fixed-point devices.

With this new device, developers can:

o Easily design a broad range of energy-efficient products by leveraging existing software TMS320C6000(TM) code

o Reduce system cost with the industry's lowest-cost networked DSP, which integrates multiple connectivity options, such as an Ethernet MAC (EMAC) and multimedia card/secure digital (MMC/SD) peripherals

o Create an entire product portfolio ranging from low- and high-end designs using the same hardware and software platform as the scalable and pin-to-pin compatible C674x and TI's OMAP-L137 low-power devices

To learn more about the C6743, download the datasheet or order the OMAP-L1x/C674x Fixed/Floating Point Starter Kit.

Application Example

The C6743 is suited for a range of applications, including audio conferencing, power protection systems, industrial monitoring and test and measurement products. See an example of how it works in an oscilloscope system.

A power management reference design is also available to support development with the C6743.
