Lattice Technology Releases New Version of XVL Studio 9.2


Major Enhancements and Productivity Updates to Industry Leading Technical Communication and DMU Software Package

San Francisco, CA, - Lattice Technology® Inc., the standard for technical communication and digital mock up software in the manufacturing enterprise, has announced today the release of XVL Studio 9.2 with a host of dynamic improvements that allow users to save time, increase efficiency and improve quality.

XVL Studio, available in Basic, Standard and Pro editions is one of the leading tools for creation of technical documents and digital mock-up using 3D design data. The wide array of new features in version 9.2 provides improvements for all users whether using the software for DMU or to create 2D and 3D technical documentation.

The new Multi-CAD Direct Import option for XVL Studio allows users to open 3D CAD and neutral format files directly in the application. This feature is enabled by the HOOPS 3D Exchange toolkit from Techsoft3D. This replaces the previously available Lattice3D Dataway product.

The capabilities of the authoring and editing tools of XVL Studio version 9.2 tools have been greatly expanded. The enhanced features include extensive editing options, flexible measurement and cross-sectioning tools and additional DMU features. Combined with the new features are improvements to the XVL format designed to make working even the largest XVL files faster and easier.

The range of new features includes improved tools for creating 2-D/3D documents:

o New snapshot options including colors, lights, view areas and support for profile lines

o Access to measure, section and snapshot tools during process editing

o New options for creating Excel output from process animations

o Editing of trace lines using intermediate points

o Use of existing part geometry as independent edges for illustrations

o New controls for illustration files size

For Digital Mock UP users the enhancements include:

o Improved XVL file performance

o Measurements between faces and parts

o Simplified Cross Section / Profile dialog boxes

o Dynamic measurement of profile lines and more control over profile line display

o New options for positioning human models

The features will also be available in the previously announced XVL Technical Illustration and Technical Collaboration Suites.

The upgraded version of XVL Studio is available immediately. Existing customers under maintenance can download the new version free of charge.
