Sometimes wind and solar power is not enough to keep up with peak power demands in off-the-grid wilderness cabins, rural farms or green suburban homes. During these peak load times, owners can turn to Next Generation Power's new line of DC Power Units to provide high-out battery charging.
With a long service life, low emissions and little maintenance, the incredibly-efficient, Kubota-based, diesel systems can average less than 1/10 gallon of fuel per hour. Able to be custom-built to fit numerous applications, the state-of-the-art DC Power Units are perfect for rapid battery bank charging or use with inverters during peak load times.
The advanced systems feature remote start/stop panels, oil pressure and water temperature safety shutdowns and vibration isolation mounts. Radiator cooling options include mounted or remote with electric fan.
Basic DC Power Unit packages from Next Gen start at $3,295 with a single-cylinder, diesel Kubota engine and a 150-amp, 12V alternator. Measuring 24" H x 24" W x 20" D and weighing 220 lbs., the pictured DC Power Unit pairs a 3-cylinder, 18-hp engine with a super-efficient, 275-amp permanent magnet alternator. It costs $4,495. Next Gen also offers a 5 kW generator with a 275-amp alternator for multiple applications.
