Model AMSRW-78Z has up to 8:1 input voltage range spanning from 9-72 Vdc and steps down to output voltages from 3.3-15 Vdc. Featuring up to 6:1 input voltage range from 4.5-30 Vdc, AMSRB-78-NZ also steps down to regulated outputs ranging from 3.3-15 Vdc and offers output ripple and noise of 25 mV p-p. Both products operate in ambient temperature range of -40° to +85°C and include continuous short circuit protection, output current limit, and thermal shutdown protection.

DC/DC Switching Regulators with Twice the Efficiency at Just One Quarter the Size of Linear Regulators.
Montreal, Canada - Aimtec adds two new series of DC/DC switching regulators bring its complete product offering to over 40 non-isolated, switching regulators as pin-to-pin replacement to 78xx linear regulators to meet virtually every configuration requirement.
The new AMSRW-78Z differentiates itself with ultra wide (up to 8:1) input voltage range spanning from 9 to 72VDC stepping down to highly regulated and protected output voltages ranging from 3.3 to 15VDC.
Alternatively, the new AMSRB-78-NZ offers a cost effective solution without compromise. Wide (up to 6:1) input voltage range spanning from 4.5 to 30VDC step down to regulated and protected outputs ranging from 3.3 to 15VDC. The AMSRB-78-NZ features low output ripple and noise of 35mV p-p, an important feature for noise sensitive applications.
Both AMSRW-78Z and AMSRB-78-NZ produce maximum output currents of 500mA at efficiency rates of up to 96% that remain virtually constant over the entire input range. Operating continuously at full load without derating below +71° C (AMSRB-78-NZ) or +60° C (AMSRW-78Z), within an ambient temperature range of -40° to +85°C eliminates the need for the costly and bulgy heasinks associated with linear regulators.
Designed in a compact, SIP3 packages (11.68 x 9.65 x 7.50mm), both series are pin compatible to the TO-220 package for low profile circuit implementations such as portable power and standby-power applications.
