Housed in SIP3 package measuring 11.7 x 7.4 x 10.2 mm, Series AMSR1-78Z accepts inputs ranging from 4.75-18 Vdc to 6.50-18 Vdc that step down to tightly regulated output voltages as low as 1.5-5 Vdc, with efficiency up to 94%. Step-down converters operate continuously at full load below +60°C and within ambient temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Made with RoHS-compliant materials, non-isolated units include continuous output short circuit protection and do not require heatsink.

Smallest DC- DC switching regulators with 1A output current
Aimtec's newest series of non-isolated, DC-DC switching regulators produce a high output current of 1A within one of the smallest SIP3 packages, measuring only 11.7 x 7.4 x 10.2mm for lower profile circuit implementations such as portable power and standby-power applications.
A feature rich alternative to 78xx linear regulators, the AMSR1-78Z step-down converters accept wide inputs ranging from 4.75-18VDC to 6.50-18VDC that step down to tightly regulated (±0.6%) output voltages starting as low as 1.5 to 5VDC, within efficiency rates as high as 94%.
While it is pin-to-pin compatible with the TO-220 package, the AMSR1-78Z does not require the heat sink, input and output capacitors or any of the other external components associated with traditional linear regulators.
