Cylindrical Roller Bearings run cool at high speeds.

Press Release Summary:

SKF® Explorer single-row cylindrical roller bearings feature logarithmically crowned rollers that optimize contact geometry between roller and raceway for operation even under misaligned conditions. Bearing rollers are guided between integral open flanges on one ring, which reduces friction. Available with bore sizes from 0.7874-8.6614 in. in dia, standard units have molded glass fiber-reinforced polyamide cage, or optional machined brass and pressed steel.

SKF® Explorer Single-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings Feature Unique Design for Ideal Performance

New SKF® Explorer single-row cylindrical roller bearings feature optimized design and contact geometry for enhanced bearing performance and reliability even under misaligned conditions. These bearings serve as ideal solutions for applications including compressors, industrial gearboxes, transmissions, and countless others.

SKF Explorer single-row cylindrical roller bearings offer high radial load-carrying capacity and high-speed capability. Their unique logarithmically "crowned" rollers improve the contact geometry between roller and raceway. The resulting roller profile reduces stresses under high load conditions; provides excellent performance under misaligned conditions; and promotes cooler running to allow for high-speed operation and enable longer bearing service life.

Bearing rollers are guided between integral "open flanges" on one of the rings, which contributes to improved lubrication, reduced friction, and lower operating temperature. Optimized surface finishes favor lubricant film formation and help achieve correct rolling motion of the cylindrical rollers.

Precision-honed inner and outer rings, raceways, and rollers deliver optimum bearing operation and improved lubricant effectiveness for quieter, cooler, and reliable performance. Cage materials include molded glass fiber-reinforced polyamide (standard) or optional machined brass and pressed steel. Available bore sizes range in diameter from 20mm to 220mm (0.7874 in. to 8.6614 in.).

Custom designs can be developed to satisfy particular application requirements.
