Toyoda Shows Cylindrical Grinders at South-Tec
Wixom, Mich. - Toyoda's GE3 will be among three machines shown by Toyoda at South-Tec March 5-7, 2002.
The compact GE3 is designed for highly precise automatic grinding of small lots. Simplified programming makes this model an easy transition to CNC for operators used to hydraulic or manual machines. The conversational control teaches the user to create a program with a step-by-step format. Selection of feeds and speeds is automatic. Minimal data input dramatically reduces set up time, and automatic grinding is possible from the first work piece. A variety of build-in grinding and dressing patterns, automatic wheel dressing, and a table design for traverse taper grinding are additional user-friendly features of Toyoda's GE3.
Universal grinding has proven well-suited for parts demanding precise concentricity. Toyoda's GU4-R universal grinder packs maximum flexibility into a single, multi-functional machine. The three-in-one wheelhead automatically rotates between wheels for plunge, shoulder and internal grinding. Automatic changeover from OD to ID allows the part to undergo multiple grinding operations in a single chucking. The GU4-R comes equipped with a 7.5hp spindle motor, and large 18 x 1.5 straight and 18 x 3-inch angle wheels. Floor space savings is an added benefit of a multi-functional grinder, which can take on the work of multiple stand-alone hydraulic machines.
