Custom Inkjet and Pad Printers support barcode scanner option.

Press Release Summary:

By supporting barcode scanner option, custom inkjet and pad printers eliminate risk of improper parameters being loaded when changing from one print job to next. Operator plugs in handheld unit and scans barcode on job ticket to automatically load correct print parameters for that product. Increasing productivity, barcode-generated job submittal minimizes setup and and operator involvement in configuration of system for print job while also decreasing scrap rates.

The Barcode Scanner

EAST DORSET, VT — Pad Print Machinery of Vermont has recently acquired a Barcode Scanning System to further aid our engineering staff in producing printing systems capable of error-free job creation and setups.

Pad Print Machinery of Vermont has taken the standard hand held barcode scanner and integrated it into our machines, creating a new generation of custom inkjet and pad printers. When the barcode scanner option is installed in the printing system, the risk of improper parameters being loaded when changing from one print job to the next is virtually eliminated. The printer operator simply has to plug in the hand held barcode scanner and scan the barcode on the job ticket to automatically load correct print parameters for that product.

While this option has been popular with our customers in the medical industry due to stringent process validation requirements, many other industries can also benefit from this feature. Barcode-generated job submittal requires much less operator and setup involvement in the configuration of the system for the new print job, thereby reducing the time and effort required while virtually eliminating print job parameter errors. Ultimately this leads to greatly reduced scrap rates and increased profitability and productivity.

Julian Joffe, CEO of Pad Print Machinery of Vermont states “We have given a lot of thought to creating simple job submission methodologies which limit operator errors while optimizing overall throughput. Our Engineering Team takes pride in the ability to tailor the production process to each customer. Remote job submittal – where a production manager or supervisor can populate the print queue from their desk – is one example, but that is just one of the many options available. Job submission via barcode scanning is simply another way in which we add value to the printing process.”
