Rittal’s Flexibar® Offers Flexibility, as well as Reduced Installation Space, Time and Cost

SPRINGFIELD, OH, July 2004 – Rittal Corporation announces Flexibar, a reliable alternative to cable or rigid busbar conductors. Flexibar allows more flexibility in panel designs, saving valuable panel space and reducing installation time and cost. It is ideal as a high amperage conductor solution for: busbar systems, power distribution, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, AC/DC drive units, switchgear, motor controls and transformers.

Available in amperage ranges of 200 to 1600A, Flexibar is designed with high temperature PVC insulation that permits the conductor’s copper laminates to slide within its protective jacket. This unique design also allows Flexibar to be twisted and bent to fit a wide range of panel layouts, including those in tight areas where rigid busbar or large diameter cable cannot be used.

With UL, CSA and CE approvals, Flexibar can easily replace multiple runs of cable, is easier to bend and shape and eliminates the need for termination lugs. This flexibility results in lower installation time and cost. The conductor also gives an aesthetically-pleasing appearance to panel systems by neatly organizing hard-to-make connections. The larger connection surface area of Flexibar results in lower operating temperatures than cable.

Rittal offers tin-plated Flexibar for corrosion resistance in harsh environments such as coastal and marine applications. Made-to-Order Flexibar, a pre-formed solution designed to customer specifications, is ideal for repetitive OEM type projects, MRO applications and custom electrical connections. Made-to-Order Flexibar arrives pre-bent, stripped and punched to your specifications and is ready to install “out of the box.”

If you would like more information about the Flexibar or any other Rittal products, please contact Rittal today.

Rittal Corporation, headquartered in Springfield, Ohio, is a part of Rittal GmbH & Co. KG - the world’s leading enclosure manufacturer.
