Press Release Summary:

With traces of anti-counterfeit marker or taggant, DeTek™ color concentrates enable plastics manufacturers to ensure product safety, supply chain integrity, and brand reputation without any effect on color quality or product performance. New Concentrates Provide Counterfeit Detection Capability with No Effect on Color or Other Properties

Teknor Color Supports Users of DeTek™ Color Concentrates with Option of Submitting Suspect Products for Analysis with the Company’s Sophisticated Instrumentation

PAWTUCKET, RI, U.S.A.: New color concentrates with exceedingly small traces of an anti-counterfeit marker or taggant enable plastics manufacturers to ensure product safety, supply chain integrity, and brand reputation with no effect on color quality or product performance, it was announced today by the Teknor Color Division of Teknor Apex Company.

Used at standard letdown ratios in a wide range of thermoplastics, DeTek™ functional color concentrates help brand owners to protect their businesses from incursions by seemingly identical fake products that lack the identifying marker. Such products may damage brand identity by compromising safety, purity, or reliability. DeTek concentrates can also help provide assurance to automotive, electronic, medical device, and other OEMs that use components from multiple contractors for regulated or high-specification applications.

The taggants in products made with DeTek concentrates respond to special detection equipment but are difficult for fraudulent manufacturers to identify or copy. As a service to customers, Teknor Color can carry out an analysis of suspect products, saving customers from the considerable cost of investing in analytical systems.

“As one of the divisions of Teknor Apex Company, we have the capability to assist our customers with the analysis of the suspect part or product using our extensive library of analytical capabilities” said Jeff Neupauer, director of sales.
