Panel Guard Vortex Coolers Offer Thermal Protection
Vortec has expanded its line of Vortex Cooler™ enclosure cooling systems with two new models for NEMA 4X rated electrical cabinets. The stainless steel Panel GuardTM models feature an integral mechanical thermostat to maintain enclosure temperatures within a range of 80 to 122F (27 to 50C). Requiring only a compressed air supply to operate, the Panel Guard cooler quickly installs in a 1.5” knockout hole to keep electrical control panels cool, clean and protected. An affordable, maintenance-free alternative to air conditioners, the compact (only 6.75” tall when mounted) Coolers incorporate vortex tube technology to convert filtered compressed air into a low pressure, refrigerated air stream distributed throughout the enclosure. Refrigerated air entering the cabinet provides a light positive purge to seal out contaminants, while hot air is expelled through a relief valve. The UL-listed Panel Guard models are weatherproof, corrosion-resistant units suitable for wash-down applications and deliver 1500 or 2500 BTUH of refrigeration.
