New VF Converter Series from ERG Provides Rugged Drop-In Replacements for Imports
Endicott, NY, February 2003 - A new series of compact DC to DC/AC converters from Endicott Research Group (ERG) Inc. provide rugged, U.S.-made drop-in replacements for imported converters used to power vacuum fluorescent displays in security access terminals, gaming machines, appliances, automotive displays, consumer electronics and other applications.
"This converter series is a perfect example of what ERG excels at, namely, the ability to provide the exact power supply for applications where the original part has been discontinued but the need remains," said Bill Abbott, ERG's Global Marketing Strategist. "And, these converters can also be tailored to meet new project requirements."
ERG's new converter series includes the E2598VF converter. Measuring only 1.25" x .93" (31.8 x 23.6 mm), with a low profile of .545" (13.84 mm), this closed-loop power supply provides stable output voltages over a wide input voltage range. It offers an input voltage range of 4.5 to 5.5 VDC and two negative DC output voltage ranges -- 21.6 to 26.4 VDC (-V1) and 27.9 to 34.1 VDC (-V2) -- and is a drop-in replacement for TDK's CD-1683N converter (used in applications such as security access terminals and now discontinued).
The series also includes the E2577VF converter, which measures 1.40" x 1.09" (35.56 mm x 27.7 mm), has a low profile of .539" (13.69 mm), and provides one positive DC output voltage and one center-tapped AC voltage. It is a drop-in replacement for TDK's CD-1848P converter.
Rounding out the series is the E2578VF. It has the same dimensions as the E2577VF and provides up to two negative DC output voltages and one center-tapped AC voltage.
Pricing for the E2598VF converter is $9.76 in production quantities. Delivery is 4 weeks A.R.O.
