August 30, 2005 - Built for use in continuous duty cycles, 7500 series actuators use oil lubricant and will not overheat. Products feature positive action from low-friction ball screw and ball nut design and perform with efficiency ratings to 70%. Available in versions rated to 10 hp max with capacities of 3,500, 12,000, and 27,000 lb, all models are offered with top plate, clevis, or threaded end mounts. Actuator shell and shell cap are of cast aluminum and finned for optimal cooling.

Continuous Linear Motion

Exclusive Continuous Duty Actuator From Duff-Norton Provides Smooth Efficient Linear Positioning.

Charlotte, NC – For applications requiring continuous duty cycles (at rated capacities only) Duff-Norton offers their 7500 series actuators. While other actuators overheat during continuous cycles, Duff-Norton’s 7500 series keeps performing. Duff-Norton is the sole domestic supplier for actuators designed to meet these critical application demands.

The 7500 actuator series from Duff-Norton performs with efficiency ratings ranging to 70%, maximum horsepower ratings up to 10, and capacities of 3,500, 12,000 and 27,000 lbs. All models are available with Top Plate, Clevis, or Threaded End mounts.

Several key design features have been combined to provide the end user with the desired continuous duty ratings. Duff-Norton’s ball screw and ball nut systems provides for smooth efficient linear movement. The positive action of the low friction ball screw and ball nut design provides longer life at load and requires less power to achieve a specified thrust. The actuator’s shell and shell cap are cast aluminum, which possesses much better cooling properties than the typical cast steel or cast ductile iron found in most actuators. The 7500 series’ shell and shell caps are also finned to further enhance the actuator’s cooling properties, and an oil lubricant is also specified rather than grease. The 7500 series actuators can be used individually, in tandem, or as part of a larger mechanical system. All Duff-Norton mechanical actuators come with a limited lifetime warranty.
