Easy-to-use conferencing solution now shares voice, video and data
CALGARY, Alberta --- January 31, 2005 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the release of Bridgit(TM) conferencing software 3.0 for Microsoft® Windows® operating system. The latest release adds Voice over IP (VoIP) to the Web conferencing application, which allows a user to share voice, video and data with others over the Internet. By using computer microphones, up to four participants can converse at the same time, eliminating the need for a telephone connection. Other conference participants can request to speak at any time during the conference, with no limit to the number of listeners.
The addition of VoIP to Bridgit software reduces costs by eliminating the need for an external audio bridge. Because there are no voice-bridge numbers or passwords to remember, joining a conference is simple and seamless. Version 3.0 gives the conference owner more control over audio, video and Web conferencing, making meetings more efficient. As well, the quality of the audio adapts to the available bandwidth. The compact, convenient toolbar and menu offer easy access to the software's most frequently used features, such as Share Desktop, Send Invite, pen tools and webcam access.
