Geiss LLC Introduces New FZ Composite Trimming Machine at IMTS 2010

Durham, CT . . . Geiss LLC will introduce its new FZ Combined Ultrasonic and Milling Composite Trimming Machine at IMTS - The International Manufacturing Technology Show 2010 being held at Chicago's McCormick Place September 13-18. Geiss LLC is in Booth #S-8056 which is located in the South Building, Metal Cutting Processes Pavilion.

By combining the milling process and ultrasonic trimming for composites on one machine, users can realize significant increases in productivity and ultimate flexibilty. Large ultrasonic blades, up to 3" in length, and rotational ultrasonic disks all come with quick-change abilty. The ultrasonic horns have their frequencies and amplitudes automatically programmed and controlled by the Siemens 840D. When Equipping a machine with linear motors, the end user gains an increase in accuracy and the possibility to minimize the cycle time due to the high accelerations between the milling or cutting operations. There are no limits on travel distance so any machine size can be produced.

Geiss' parametric design philosophy means the machine can be manufactured in any size with any level of automation, and with up to 400 options depending on the material and application for milling and trimming.
