Original Press Release:

Ferrari's Stamisol FT 371 Membrane, a Textile Façade and a Medium for Creation

Stamisol FT 371, the latest release from Ferrari, French producer of composite textiles for large-scale building applications, combines stability, transparency, and durability. This lightweight façade covering is suitable for new buildings, renovations, or building extensions. Its flexibility allows a perfect fit to a facade's specific shapes and curves with standard or customized panels.

Due to the controlled biaxial weaving performed on the polyester scrim during the coating process, the textile ends up with an exceptional dimensional stability in both warp and weft directions. When it is put under tension on frames, the panels remain perfectly flat and keep their original geometrical shape.

The side of the membrane that faces the building's interior is a dark hue, enhancing the transparency of the material and providing better visibility towards the outside. Custom-fitted to a specific structure, it acts as an insulating barrier in cold weather and provides protection from the sun in warmer months.

Appearance can also be made to order. The metallic styles-gold, bronze, copper, and aluminum-combine the appearance of metals with the flexibility of composite membranes. Digital or silkscreen printing turns the textile façades into large visual communication. Another alternative is to choose a design that plays on the environment and blends in by harmonizing with the landscape.

This composite textile has been rated with M1, B1, and Euroclass Bs2d0 fire classifications and is guaranteed for 10 years. It can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -22° to 158°F and has ISO 9001 certification. It is 100 percent recyclable thanks to the Texyloop technology, which is based on the patented Vinyloop process for recycling PVC composite textiles developed with the Solvay company.
