December 19, 2001 - PolyLube™ IFR (Improved Fatigue Resistance), low friction, self-lubricating, composite bearing with proprietary laminate architecture resists delamination and premature bearing failure. It can withstand static loads of ~60,000 PSI and 30,000 PSI under dynamic loading. Bearing's temperature range is ±325°F.

PolyLube IFR Bearing (Improved Fatigue Resistance)

December 10. 2001 - Polygon Company today announced the commercialization of a new composite bearing with improved fatigue resistance. The product, called the PolyLube IFR Bearing (Improved Fatigue Resistance) offers the same load capacity ratings as the PolvLube Fiber Series bearing, but with a proprietary laminate architecture that allows the IFR bearing to resist delamination and premature bearing failure.

Impact fatigue is a common design limitation for composite bearing design. This type of failure mode has traditionally limited the design opportunities for composite bearings in heavy construction equipment and some agriculture equipment systems. Says Polygon's Benjamin Shobert; "the IFR bearing allows Polygon to offer to customers a product that addresses very real performance limiters with traditional 'legacy-era' composite bearings. The IFR bearing builds on Polygon's advanced manufacturing techniques as well as a proprietary fiber and resin architecture. Customers who have had problems with composite bearings are finding new latitudewith teh IFR bearing"
