January 31, 2013 - While specifically designed for gas turbines, Concat™ GT compact extruded ceramic SCR catalyst is suitable for use in new or retrofit applications. It provides honeycomb structure that results in up to 95% NOx reduction while lessening amount of catalyst required. Package size results in decreased pressure drop across catalyst and ammonia slip, providing turbine owners/operators and SCR system engineers flexibility in system design.

New, More Compact, Concattm GT SCR Catalyst Reduces up to 95% of NOx Emissions from Gas Turbines

Latest technology from Johnson Matthey suitable for new or retrofit applications

Audubon, PA–Now available from Johnson Matthey’s Stationary Emissions Control (SEC) group is the new, more compact extruded ceramic Concattm GT SCR catalyst specifically designed for gas turbines.

Johnson Matthey SEC is a leader in SCR catalysts for coal power plants and engineered SCR systems for stationary diesel and gas engines.

The compact Concat GT SCR catalyst provides a honeycomb structure that gives high performance NOx reduction—up to 95%--with less catalyst required. The result is a smaller catalyst package, lower pressure drop across the catalyst and less ammonia slip. This gives turbine owners/operators and SCR system engineers greater flexibility in system design. Concat GT SCR catalyst is ideal for replacement or new installations.

Johnson Matthey pioneered CO oxidation catalyst for gas turbines in the 1970s. Since then, oxidation catalysts have been installed in some of the most environmentally challenging applications, providing greater than 90% reduction of CO, VOC, formaldehyde and other toxic compounds.

Jeff Sherman, President of Johnson Matthey Stationary Emissions Control LLC, said, “The breakthrough Concat GT SCR catalyst underscores our commitment to developing the most effective emissions control catalysts for combustion turbines, which are essential for baseload and intermittent load power production. We are focused on developing and manufacturing the highest quality products possible.”

Founded in 1817, Johnson Matthey is the world’s leader in environmental catalyst technology with more than 40 years of experience in environmental emissions control catalysts for stationary and mobile sources.
