August 13, 2008 - Featuring selectable noise bandwidths and center frequency placement, as well as programmable impulse noise waveforms, 3U Model 3601 takes place of several instruments in one-slot cPCI form factor. Module includes integrated additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and burst/impulse noise for impairment testing applications. Signals from 250 kHz to 2.2 GHz can be injected into 3601 and either pass straight through, or add programmatically controlled AWGN or impulse noise to signal.

DAQTron Introduces 3601 Compact PCI Module

DAQTron 3601 Enables Additive Impairments in Single Slot 3U Compact PCI Module

ATLANTA, Aug. 5 /-- DAQTron, Inc., an industry leader in the implementation of broadband test products and systems solutions, introduced the 3601 Additive Impairment Module, a 3U Compact PCI (cPCI) module that enables addition of Gaussian or impulse noise to communications signals.

The DAQTron 3601 Additive Impairment Board is a cPCI module with integrated Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and burst / impulse noise for impairment testing applications. With selectable noise bandwidths and center frequency placement, and programmable impulse noise waveforms, the 3601 takes the place of several instruments in a one-slot cPCI form factor.

The 3601 is perfect for real world simulation of impairments in many applications; especially those involving some form of digital communication format. Signals from 250 kHz to 2.2 GHz can be injected into the 3601 and either pass straight through, or add programmatically controlled AWGN or impulse noise to the signal. There is no need for external switches, splitters, filters, or upconverters.

DAQTron is currently in Beta test phase with the 3601 and expects to begin shipping the product in Q4 2008.
