Supplied in pellets without fines, Purgex 461 Plus blends low-linear polyethylene carrier and FDA-approved active ingredients that are non-toxic, non-abrasive, and safe for cleaning blown film and sheet lines in frequently purged extruders. It is recommended for color and/or material changes and removal of residual contamination; cleaning extruder, screen pack housing, and die/manifold; removing all types of color bodies, carbonized material, and degraded resins; and shut-downs.

Neutrex Introduces New Purgex® 461 Plus to Purge Film & Sheet Lines to be Introduced at NPE 2009 - Booth N67059
(MAY 2009) - A new commercial purging compound (CPC) designed for cleaning blown film and sheet lines is being introduced by Neutrex, Inc., Houston, Texas at NPE 2009, Booth N67059. According to the company, Purgex 461 Plus is a special blend designed for cleaning extruders frequently purged and may be used in certain lines without removing the screen pack. Neutrex reports that using Purgex 461 Plus will result in shorter cleaning cycles, lower purging material costs, and greater reliability in controlling the release of contaminants during production runs.
Supplied ready-to-use, Purgex 461 Plus is recommended for color and/or material changes and the removal of residual contamination, cleaning the extruder, screen pack housing, and die/manifold, removing all types of color bodies, carbonized material and degraded resins, and for shut-downs. Neutrex states that Purgex 461 is very effective in purging the new series of biodegradable and compostable polyethylene resins that are growing in popularity and availability.
New Purgex 461 Plus is a blend of low-linear polyethylene carrier and FDA-approved active ingredients that are non-toxic, non-abrasive and safe. Supplied in pellets without fines, the new CPC has an operating temperature range of 250°F to 450°F (120° to 232°C) and is easy to remove, according to Neutrex.
