X-Rite Announces New Version of IntelliTrax; the Industry's Fastest, Automated Color Measurement System for Press-side Color Control

Version 1.5 supports G7® proof-to-print process control, most major international standards and CxF, the next generation file format for color communication

DRUPA 2008 DUSSELDORF (Hall 5, Stand DO2) - May 29, 2008 - X-Rite, Incorporated (NASDAQ:XRIT), the world leader in color technology, today announced version 1.5 of IntelliTrax, the printing industry's fastest automated color management scanning solution for press-side control. The new version now supports the G7® proof-to-print process control, most major international standards and CxF, the next generation file format for color communication. IntelliTrax version 1.5 will be showcased for the first time at drupa 2008 on the X-Rite stand (Hall 5, Stand DO2).

Designed for high-end, high-speed printing operations, IntelliTrax automatically scans the color bar of a typical press sheet in seconds (including PANTONE® Colors, special colors, non-process colors and paper color) and immediately reports these results on-screen, allowing press operators to quickly make adjustments and get to the approved color faster. This allows for faster make-ready, improves quality control and ultimately leads to increased ROI.

IntelliTrax version 1.5 now fully supports the G7® proof-to-print process control methodology. Thanks to a host of new G7® -compliant features, IntelliTrax v1.5 measures color against G7® -defined targets, displays graphs to show performance against G7® targets, and indicates which inks need to be changed to achieve these targets, offering complete G7® -compliant reporting. The new version of IntelliTrax also enables measurement of P2P targets into the IDEALink® Curve software offered by IDEAlliance®, utilizing the advanced ICC mode. For more information on the G7 Process, visit IDEAlliance® at www.idealliance.org.

"The use of automated color management tools is crucial to the smooth implementation of the G7® proof-to-print process," comments David Steinhardt, president and chief executive officer of IDEAlliance®. "Not only do they provide a way to maintain and monitor the calibration process, but they ensure accurate and traceable data every time, thereby streamlining the entire workflow. X-Rite's certification of the G7® process is raising the bar for the entire industry."

With a new integrated standards library, IntelliTrax version 1.5 now allows customers to simply choose their desired standard by selecting the appropriate icon on-screen, ensuring that their entire color management workflow is fully standards-compliant to meet their regional requirements. IntelliTrax version 1.5 also supports CxF, an open file format designed to accurately and unambiguously communicate all commercially significant aspects of color across devices, applications, industries and geographies.

The new version of IntelliTrax has a number of usability enhancements including trend reporting features, which allow users to evaluate sheet trends within jobs, and to review performance of the press over time. This will give an at-a-glance indication to the press operator if there is a problem during the print run. The new 'Best Match' feature will alert the user and make a recommendation on how to adjust the ink to get to optimal color faster, keeping colors and inks on target even before visible color shifts occur.

IntelliTrax version 1.5 will be available from X-Rite and its extensive global network of authorized resellers during the third quarter of 2008. For further information, please visit www.xrite.com.
