To save installation time, Color-Keyed® Insulated Lugs eliminate need to cover lug with tape, heat-shrink, or cold-shrink insulation. Translucent nylon sleeves provide dielectric strength and insulating properties while keeping color-coded barrel visible. Pre-positioned on lug, sleeves enable lugs to be crimped on top of insulation while ensuring that none of cable is left exposed once crimped. Made of seamless copper tubing with tin electroplating, lugs have max temperature rating of 221°F.

MEMPHIS, Tenn., - Color-Keyed® Insulated Lugs from Thomas & Betts reduce installation time and cost by eliminating the time-consuming task of covering the lug with tape, heat-shrink or cold-shrink insulation after it has been installed. The translucent nylon sleeves covering the Color-Keyed® Insulated Lugs provide excellent dielectric strength and insulating properties, while keeping the color-coded barrel easily visible. By being pre-positioned on the lug, the nylon sleeves enable the lugs to be crimped on top of the insulation while ensuring that none of the cable is left exposed once the lugs are crimped.
As part of the industry's first color-coded compression connector system, which established the color code as an industry standard, Color-Keyed Insulated Lugs offer the broadest selection of insulated lugs in the market. They are available in one- and two-hole designs as standard catalog items, while custom options include finish, tongue width and angle, and bolt size and spacing. The line ranges from #8 AWG to 250 kcmil copper conductors, and are easily installed with a variety of standard Color-Keyed compression tools, including models TBM6S, 25000, 13642M or 13400 with an adapter.
Made of seamless copper tubing with tin electroplating, Color-Keyed Insulated Lugs have a maximum temperature rating of 105 degrees Celsius (221 degrees Fahrenheit). Color-Keyed Insulated Lugs are listed with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and are certified with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
