SKC Introduces Wipes for the Disclosure of Lead on Skin and Surfaces

SKC Inc., Eighty Four, PA – Full Disclosure Instant Wipe Method for Disclosure of Lead provides a fast, easy, and reliable indication of the presence of lead on skin and surfaces, including irregular surfaces such as safety glasses, steering wheels, and shoes.

Lead residue on workers' hands can be a considerable health risk because the lead may be ingested during eating, drinking, or smoking. Careful handwashing and surface cleaning can remove all lead residues, however, it is difficult for worker's to determine whether lead has been removed completely.

Developed and patented by NIOSH and the CDC, Full Disclosure Wipes are safe to use on skin and surfaces and quickly alert the worker to the presence of lead residue following handwashing or cleaning regimens. Detecting lead is as easy as wiping, spraying the wipe with solutions, and observing the simple color change: yellow is negative, red is positive. The intensity of the red bloom even provides indication of the relative amount of lead present.

SKC offers Full Disclosure Wipes in convenient kits that provide all the materials needed for immediate color indication of the presence of lead or for wipe samples that can be sent to a laboratory for quantitative analysis.
