BASF Introduces RHEOCOLOR® L Coloring Admixtures

Integral liquid color admixtures add beauty, value for all concreting applications

CLEVELAND, OH, January 6, 2009 - The Admixture Systems business of BASF Construction Chemicals today introduced its RHEOCOLOR L brand of liquid coloring admixtures for decorative concrete. The patented formula is available in 50 new colors that create beautiful, long-lasting decorative concrete meeting any style or design palette.

The colors range from warm reds and golds to cool grays and browns, and create a unique look and feel for ready-mixed or precast concrete applications like driveways, pool decks, patios and architectural décor. In addition, the four RHEOCOLOR L base colors - light red, medium red, yellow and black - can be used to make a wide range of custom colors.

Added during the batching process, RHEOCOLOR L liquid coloring admixtures are integral, showing rich coloration from any angle, and providing color uniformity, fade resistance and long-lasting vibrancy. Their unique chemistry allows for excellent batch-to-batch color consistency, color accuracy and quick dispersion into concrete.

"RHEOCOLOR L liquid coloring admixtures can transform traditionally gray surfaces into those that reflect individual aesthetic preferences," said Bob Ryan, Product Manager, BASF. "They have the ability to emulate the look of more expensive yet less durable building materials, bringing added value to the concrete producer, contractor, and homeowner alike."

In addition, BASF's advanced state-of-the-art CAM (Color Admixture
Measuring) Colormaster(TM) System allows for easy, accurate, and economical dispensing of RHEOCOLOR L liquid coloring admixtures.
