While TG collets are ground for 0.0004 in. runout, inch and metric SX ultra high precision colletes provide 0.0002 in. or better runout. Providing 0.0001 in. accuracy and repeatability, VX inch and metric collets have coolant-through, rear pull design. ER collet system, ground 0.0004 in. (standard) or 0.0002 in. (Ultra Precision), have coolant disc systems and come in 3 tap holding designs. Available for ¾ and 1¼ in. bores, MC inch and metric collets offer 0.0002 in. repeatability.

Heartech Precision Inc. (HPI) Expands Collet Line to Now Include Additional Standard Designs, Ultra Precision Designs, Sealed Designs, Various Tapping Collets as Well as Nuts, Wrenches and Accessories
HPI now offers one of the most complete and competitively-priced collet lines available in North America.
"We believe that to effectively and economically serve a customer's tooling and tool holding needs, the product offering has to be as complete as possible. For that reason, we have recently expanded our precision and general machining tool holder collet and collet accessory products to reflect the expanding needs of our customer base, and we have competitively priced the offering to make it as appealing to our distributors and customers as possible," says Hiro Kashiwakura, president of Heartech Precision Inc. based in Elk Grove, Illinois.
Kashiwakura explains, "In addition to HPI's existing SX, VX and MC collets, we now have expanded our inch and metric selection to include all DA, TG and ER collet designs as well as Ultra Precision ER and TG collets. In addition we have a selection of sealed ER collets and three different types of tapping collets. To support these new collets we have also added more collet nut designs, coolant disc, wrenches and other accessories.
The breadth and quality of these different collet systems now allow HPI to support any machining application that requires a collet type holder, For example:
The HPI SX line of collets is an ultra high precision inch and metric design providing 0.0002-in. or better runout. Unlike other collet systems in the industry, the SX collet repeats lock up after lock up.
The HPI VX line of inch and metric collets is a rear pull collet system that gives the user the performance of an SX collet without any twisting effect on the front of the collet. With this design, the collet is fully engaged in the bore of the chuck providing 0.0001-in. accuracy and repeatability. VX collets are coolant through and require no rubber or plastic for sealing.
The HPI MC inch and metric collets are built to HPI standards with 0.0002-in. repeatability and are available for ¾ and 1-1/4-in. bore sizes.
The ER collet system is the industry standard for general machining replacing TG and DA as the dominate collet. HPI ER collets are ground 0.0004-in. standard and 0.0002-in. in the Ultra Precision design. HPI ER collets can be rubber sealed, have coolant disc systems and they are available in three different tap holding designs.
The HPI TG collet offering is a very accurate design. They are ground for 0.0004-in. runout and are compatible with all TG and SG collet systems.
The HPI DA collet has an improved desing with a longer fron lockin angle which improves the performance of the collet. These are available in 180, 100, 200, and 300 series and are compatible with all DA systems.
