New Eye-Catching Soft Touch Collet Knobs from Elma
FREMONT, California, Oct. 14, 2003 * Elma Electronic, a leading designer and manufacturer of rotary components and electronic packaging products, is expanding its electronic knob line with new "soft touch" collet knobs. This new line utilizes a firm rubberized material for a soft touch feel with a unique, eye-catching design. Applications include various medical, audio, defense, and industrial products.
Elma's soft touch collet knobs work with most, round shaft switches and potentiometers in the industry. Available in 15 and 21mm diameters, they accept shaft diameters of 4mm to ¼ inch (6.35mm). These 2-shot injected knobs employ a metal collet with "fingers" that tighten evenly around the shaft. This prevents slippage, and ensures that the shaft will not be marred or damaged, unlike knobs that use set-screws. Therefore, collet knobs provide a more reliable grip on the switch shaft.
The collet knobs meet Elma's stringent quality standards and are well suited for mission-critical applications where ruggedness, durability, and quality components are required. Caps are available in two colors and can be chosen with or without lines or dot marking for indicator reference.
