Microcentric Introduces Pull to Close Dead Length Collet Chucks

for immediate release

Plainview, NY October 22, 2003...MicroCentric Corporation has introduced a new patented Dead Length design collet chuck for use with servo bar loaders. Traditional Dead Length chucks are actuated by the draw tube moving forward away from the machine spindle. The forward motion of the draw tube can slide the bar off the pusher causing inconsistent feed out. MicroCentric’s pull-to-close design is actuated as the draw tube moves toward the machine spindle and efficiently slides the bar against
the pusher. The result is consistent Z axis positioning of the bar. All components of NDR collet chucks are hardened and precision ground for highest accuracy and long life. NDR chucks feature parallel clamping, and radial adjusting screws for fast, accurate setup. The internal face seal keeps the inside of the chuck free of chip and coolant contamination while the lubricated-for-life design assures NDR chucks require minimal maintenance.

NDR Dead Length collet chucks are available for MicroCentric Quick Change Collets with capacities up to 2.625” (65mm), as well as S style collet pads. S pad chuck models include a vulcanized master collet with +/- .20” (+/- 0.5mm) clamping range.

S pad chucks are available for S-20 through S-30 collet pads.

NDR chucks are designed to operate with a CNC turning machine’s existing draw tube and hydraulic actuator. The chucks are supplied with a spindle mounting plate and threaded draw tube connector.

MicroCentric manufacturers a full line of collet chucks for Quick Change Collets, S Pad Collet Pads, and 5C, 16C and 3J collets in Dead Length as well as Pullback models.
