March 14, 2006 - Designed to facilitate recycling and re-use of loose-fill packaging, collection system employs grated hopper that serves as packing station while allowing overspill from overhead dispensing to pass through grate and into collection hopper. Material from hopper can be removed manually or air-conveyed back into bins containing virgin loose fill materials. Storopack Collection System Captures Loose-Fill Packaging for Re-Use

Cincinnati, OH - Collection systems from Storopack, Inc. capture loose-fill packaging so that it can be recycled and re-used. The system includes a grated hopper which serves as a packing station while allowing the overspill from overhead dispensing to pass through the grate and into a collection hopper. Material from the hopper can be removed manually or air-conveyed back into bins containing virgin loose fill materials. Designed to perform equally well with any of the varieties of Storopack loose-fill, these collection systems also work with all types, shapes and sizes of loose-fill packaging (commonly called packing peanuts). Capturing spilled loose-fill for re-use is more economical than discarding spilled materials, and can save companies on their waste disposal fees (especially for volume based waste programs). On-staff engineers and technicians survey existing packaging systems, design around current shipping room constraints, and provide assistance at each step of the process. Capture and re-use of loose-fill is part of a nationwide program aimed at reducing the amount of loose-fill which is sent to landfills each year.

Storopack, Inc., is the world's largest manufacturer, converter and recycler of expanded polystyrene (EPS) whose primary activities include the conversion of EPS, natural starch and paper cushioning products. In addition to providing the industry's broadest line of protective packaging, Storopack also designs and supplies loose-fill storage and delivery systems.
