New 11.6 Coin Cell Retainer for Automated SMT Placement
Astoria, N.Y.-A new, top-loaded, low profile Coin Cell Retainer suited for high density PCB packaging has expanded Keystone Electronics Corp's selection of surface mount battery retainers for automated placement in SMT applications.
Rugged yet lightweight, this unique retainer has solder tails located outside the insulating material to support vision system and other inspection systems. Engineered with reliable spring tension dynamics, the device assures low contact resistance, and is also available for through-hole use and features clearly marked polarity.
The surface mount retainer accepts all 11.6mm coin cell lithium batteries from major manufacturers and is considered safe for most soldering and reflow operations. SMT availability is in bulk (part #2996) or on tape and reel (part 2996TR) and is compatible with most vacuum and mechanical pick and place assembly systems. A through-hole retainer of this type is also available as (part #2997). Both are delivered from stock through Keystone's global distribution network. On line ordering is also offered.
