Coil Framing Nailer has 1,050 in.-lb driving force.

December 19, 2005 - Featuring magnesium housing, Model N89C-1 weighs 8.1 lb and countersinks 2-3½ in. long framing nails with 0.099-0.148 in. shank diameter into high-density building materials. Smart Trigger works in bump-fire mode if pulled before nose is depressed, and drives nails individually if nose is depressed before pulling it, minimizing double-fire effect. Second trigger works in sequential fire mode. Nailer also offers push button drive depth mechanism and 360° adjustable exhaust.

New Bostitch Coil Framing Nailer Delivers Performance Like No Other

NOVEMBER 1, 2005 - NEW YORK, NY - BOSTITCH announced today the introduction of its new model N89C-1 coil framing nailer during a press conference at the Warwick New York Hotel. Global Product Manager Dan Burgjohann said, "Performance is everything to a professional contractor. That's why BOSTITCH packed the N89C-1 with more than enough power to countersink 3-1/2" framing nails reliably into high-density building materials. We didn't stop there, however ... these framers are packed with a host of features to deliver performance like no other."

The trend of using dense engineered lumber products has created the need for a more powerful fastening solution. The BOSTITCH N89C-I responds with 20% more power than previous models by offering 1,050 inch-pounds of driving force.

The N89C-1 allows end-users to decide which type of firing mode best suits their needs. An all-new factory installed "Smart Trigger" comes standard on the tool. This unique trigger design operates in contact (bump-fire) mode when pulled before the nose is depressed; however, it drives nails individually if the nose is depressed before the trigger is pulled. This minimizes the unintentional double-fire effect caused by recoil. Additionally, the N89C-1 includes a second trigger that converts the tool to sequential fire mode if desired.

BOSTITCH chose magnesium - the same metal used in aircraft design - to construct the nailer's housing because of its lightweight, durable characteristics. The N89C-1 weighs only 8.1 pounds. Burgjohann explains, "By using magnesium, our engineers shaved off a third of a pound while redistributing the weight to improve balance and minimize recoil. More power, less weight, increased productivity ... those are the key characteristics this tool delivers to professional framers." The lightweight design, combined with an over-molded grip, works with the user to offer maximum comfort and minimize fatigue during overhead applications or prolonged use.

With a magazine capacity between 225 and 300 nails, the model N89C-1 accepts coil framing nails between 2" to 3-1/2" in length with a shank diameter of .099" to .148". The N89C's patented push button depth of drive mechanism allows users to set nails to desired depths in a matter of seconds while a tool-free 360° adjustable exhaust directs blow-back in any direction. Additionally, it provides bolt-on steel wear guards with rubber skid pads to protect the housing from daily wear and tear on the jobsite. Currently available on the market, the N89C-1 is expected to sell for approximately $279.
