November 6, 2006 - Coax connector tool works on compression-style hex F connectors in CATV installations and BNC style connectors employed for CCTV. For use in space-restricted areas, shaft size lets installer slide tool's open socket onto connector and tighten or loosen it without damaging termination. Threaded end holds F connectors during cable insertion to facilitate connector seating against dielectric. While promoting torque delivery, no-slip grip handle also reduces hand fatigue.

IDEAL Tool Quickly Connects Coaxial Cable to Equipment Used in CCTV & CATV

SYCAMORE, IL, OCTOBER 25, 2006 - Recognizing that today's datacom technicians require tools with the multi-purpose versatility to tackle virtually any type of installation, IDEAL has introduced a new coax connector tool that works on both the compression-style hex F connectors popular in CATV installations and the BNC style connectors employed for CCTV.

The first of its kind to feature this versatility, the tool facilitates faster, more efficient installations of video surveillance systems, professional AV equipment, and satellite and cable television. Its thin shaft reaches where fingers or a standard wrench cannot, such as into a crowded video distribution box, to allow installers to slide the tool's open socket onto a connector and then tighten or loosen it without damaging the termination. The tool is perfect for connecting cameras, DVRs, cable boxes or any other equipment that uses compression and hex connectors.

Additionally, it has a threaded end that holds F-connectors during cable insertion to ease connector seating against the dielectric and eliminates the chance of injury from the cable center connector.

The new tool was designed to meet the stringent standards for quality and performance set by datacom professionals. It features a comfort, no-slip grip handle that reduces fatigue on the user's hands while delivering more torque and greater durability.

The IDEAL Coax Connector Tool (part number 35-046) is immediately available at $26.95 (U.S.).
