Apply Thin Film Coatings with PRISM 100 System
Haverhill, MA - Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. has developed the Prism 100 coating system, which is designed to coat the entire surface of a flat substrate quickly and efficiently. The system uses USI's patented Ultra-Spray ultrasonic technology that delivers improved control over coating quality and coating thickness when compared to conventional spray and film coating application methods. Ultra-Spray technology can be used for the efficient application of conformal coatings, fluxes, adhesives, photo resists, conductive inks and many others. The substrate is transported under the spray head by an indexing conveyor system. The substrate moves in defined increments (X-Axis) while the spray head moves transversely (Y-Axis) to apply the coating. The system has applications in circuit board assembly, circuit board fabrication, semiconductor wafer processing, solar panel processing, and industrial assembly.
The Prism 100 coating system is ideal for applying thin films to flat substrates and is able to efficiently spray virtually any liquid, from low viscosity fluxes and solvents to more viscous adhesives, conformal coatings, conductive inks, and photo imageable materials. The Prism 100 (photo included) has an 18" x 18" spray application area has a conveyor for either inline or batch mode operation.
