APPLICATION

A Model 50-C Portable system can treat water-based
coolants in numerous individual machine sumps. A
dedicated system can handle large machine sumps or
central systems.

OPERATION

The suction strainer, pump, and coalescer are mounted
on a Portable Platform and are served by the RUDDY
DUCK DEEP Skimmer.

The RUDDY DUCK DEEP Skimmer is placed on the
coolant surface and removes the top ½" of contaminated
coolant (free oil and cream phases), delivering it to the
coalescer for oil separation. Oily contamination, with less
than 1% coolant carry over, is automatically discharged
- the clean coolant is returned to the sump for
continuing use. The system operates unattended. It can treat in sump, at sump, in central tank, or any combination of these
modes.

RESULTS

Free oil and cream phases are removed, thereby
reducing coolant deterioration, tool wear and odor.
With continuing use, free oil is removed from the sump
and machine surfaces. Manual cleaning of the sump is
90-98% eliminated: only chip removal is required.
