December 27, 2001 - QL circulation grinding Attritor includes holding tank that is typically 10 times Attritor size. Specially configured arms speed up grinding and create more agitation. Unit's high circulation/pumping rate consists of holding tank contents passing through Attritor at ~8 times an hour. Grinding media for QL range in size from 3/32 to 1/4 in. in diameter. Typical media include chrome steel, steatite, and zirconium oxide.

New "QL" Circulation Attritor Grinds Faster

New "QL" Circulation Attritor Grinds Faster

December, 2001

Akron, Ohio...The "QL" Attritor, a new, improved addition to the company's line of circulation Attritor mills, has been introduced by Union Process, Inc., inventors and developers of Attritor technology.

Like the company's original "Q" mills, the "QL" is a circulation grinding Attritor that includes a large holding tank that is typically about ten times the size of the Attritor. What differentiates the "QL" from other "Q" Attritors is the inclusion of specially configured arms that are designed to grind faster and create more agitation than conventional "Q" mills. The benefits result in a more elficient grind. This new
"QL" design can be adapted to the oriainal "Q" machine with some shaft changes and modifications. Customers who currently own a "Q" machine are encouraged to contact Union Process for details.

The key feature of the "Q" design is high circulation (or pumping) rate. In this unique design, the entire contents of the holding tank are passed through the Attritor about eight times an hour. This high pumping rate results in a faster grind and a narrower particle size distribution.

Grinding media for the "QL" range in size from 3/32" to 1/4" in diameter. Typical media include chrome steel, steatite and zirconium oxide.
