ITT Expands APD Series Circular Connector Family with 4-Way 500VDC, 20A Solution

SANTA ANA, CA - September 21, 2009 - ITT Interconnect Solutions, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of connectors, interconnects, and cable assemblies, has expanded its proven line of APD Series circular connectors. The new 500VDC, 20A 4-way circular device is a direct, in-line and bulkhead sensor connector that features three-point bayonet coupling. The connector is resistant to engine, transmission and brake fluids, making it ideal for use in a variety of automotive environments.
"Electrical specifications, especially for the new generation of hybrid and electric vehicles, have led to a surge in demand for a plastic circular connector able to meet voltage ratings up to 500VDC and handle 20A per contact," said Keith Teichmann, director of marketing for ITT Interconnect Solutions. The new APD 500VDC 4-way plastic circular connector was designed with the same dimensions and layout as ITT's standard APD connectors, allowing customers to use standard APD connector accessories, thus reducing inventory requirements. The APD 4-way contacts are recessed as a safety feature so they cannot be touched directly, while the bayonet mating combines robustness and high vibration resistance with the ability to withstand moisture ingress (up to IP69). The APD 4-way connectors meet all DIN 72585 specifications. Customers can also specify a color to best suit their specific application. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +125°C.
Typical pricing for the APD 4-way connectors is approximately $9 per set.
