June 15, 2005 - Hydraulic/Magnetic circuit breakers do not rely on change in temperature caused by increased current flow to activate trip mechanism. Unaffected by ambient temperature and sympathetic heating, products do not derate or deteriorate over time and can be used in any application from -40 to +140°F. Various frame sizes and types are available with current ratings to 100 A, and short circuit interruption capacities range from 500–10,000 A at voltages to 240 Vac/125 Vdc.

Unaffected by Temperature and Sympathetic Heating

Unlike conventional thermal circuit breakers and fuses, CBI Hydraulic/Magnetic circuit breakers do not rely on a change in temperature caused, by increased current flow, to activate the trip mechanism. As a result, ambient temperature and sympathetic heating have virtually no effect on them. In addition, unlike fuses they do not derate or deteriorate over time. Hydraulic/Magnetic breakers can be used in any application from -40°F to +140°F (-40°C to +60°C) virtually eliminating the design constraints associated with thermal breakers and fuses.

CBI Hydraulic/Magnetic breakers come in a variety of frame sizes and types with current ratings up to 100A. Short circuit interruption capacities range from 500A to 10,000A at voltages up to 240 VAC / 125VDC. A wide variety of connection types and switch styles are available. All CBI circuit breakers conforming to national and international approvals including UL, CSA, & VDE.
